Children can have a cruel, absolute sense of justice. Children can kill a monster and feel quite proud of themselves. A girl can look at her brother and believe they’re destined to be a knight and a bard who battle evil. She can believe she’s found the thing she’s been made for.

Hazel lives with her brother, Ben, in the strange town of Fairfold where humans and fae exist side by side. The faeries’ seemingly harmless magic attracts tourists, but Hazel knows how dangerous they can be, and she knows how to stop them. Or she did, once.

At the center of it all, there is a glass coffin in the woods. It rests right on the ground and in it sleeps a boy with horns on his head and ears as pointed as knives. Hazel and Ben were both in love with him as children. The boy has slept there for generations, never waking.

Until one day, he does…

As the world turns upside down, Hazel tries to remember her years pretending to be a knight. But swept up in new love, shifting loyalties, and the fresh sting of betrayal, will it be enough?

Why Am I Waiting on This?

As of right now the only book of Holly’s that I’ve read is The Coldest Girl in Coldtown and I loved it. I’ve heard the best things about her books and they are all on my TBR. Besides the series she has with Cassie Clare I wasn’t aware that she had anything releasing relatively soon so that fact that I found this by chance on Goodreads one day was the best.  The story sounds like it’s riddled with fantasy and I have been on a huge fantasy drive lately. Plus, that cover is gorrrrgeous!

Anticipation in a GIF:

To make the anticipation even grander, Mara (of Book Marauder) are planning on going to see Holly Black (along with Cassie Clare) in November when I’m visiting her while they are in Köln, Germany promoting The Iron Trial. DOUBLE ANTICIPATION!

So that’s what I’m waiting on this Wednesday and unfortunately I have to wait until 2015! January needs to come faster, although at least I’ll have the event in November to hopefully tide me over! What are you waiting on this week? Link me your post in the comments so I can check it out!

  1. I’ve only read the first 50 pages of The Coldest Girl in Coldtown but haven’t finished it yet, had blogger mail yesterday that included this so I’m seriously crossing my fingers for this pretty! 😉
